About

Nazareth Solar is a 201-megawatt solar project currently under construction on private land in Swisher County. Vesper Energy is developing the project and is responsible for it through construction, operations, and eventually decommissioning, when all equipment is removed, and the land is returned to its prior use. Building on Hornet Solar’s success, we engage directly with residents, landowners, local officials, emergency services, and local agencies to understand community priorities and maintain open communication. Our goal is to be a responsible, reliable partner that Swisher County can count on for the next estimated 40 years.

About Nazareth Solar

Nazareth Solar is a 201-megawatt solar project developed by Vesper Energy. The project will consist of solar panels installed on private land in Swisher County. Construction will begin in June 2026, with commercial operation expected by Fall 2027.

Nazareth Solar is expected to operate for an estimated 40 years. During that time, the project will create good-paying construction jobs, support full-time skilled operations and maintenance positions, provide long-term income for participating landowners, and generate new tax revenue for Swisher County schools, roads, emergency services, and county operations.

By the Numbers

Nazareth Solar is expected to deliver measurable, long-term value for Swisher County through new public revenue, support for local schools, and continued agricultural use of the land.

Why solar here?

Strong Local Solar Resource

Swisher County has favorable solar conditions for efficient energy generation.

Suitable Land Characteristics

West Texas offers abundant sunshine, flat privately owned land, and a development-friendly energy market that can support efficient project development.

Transmission Access

Proximity to strong transmission infrastructure enables efficient energy delivery.

Long-Term Tax Benefits

The project provides stable, predictable tax revenue for decades.

Our Commitment to the Community

Local Economic Support

We prioritize local hiring and business partnerships throughout the project lifecycle.

Community Investment

Our Community Giving Program ensures lasting benefits for local organizations.

Transparent Communication

We provide regular updates and maintain open channels for questions and feedback.

Land Stewardship

The land leased for Nazareth Solar remains productive. Solar panels coexist with farming, grazing continues, and the land supports the families who own it. When the project ends, all equipment will be removed under a financial bond, and the land will be fully restored. Unlike permanent development such as housing or commercial construction, the land is able to return to its prior use.

Safety Standards and Regulations

Nazareth Solar will be built and operated in accordance with applicable safety requirements, industry standards, and local, state, and federal regulations.

Community Giving Program

Grants available for schools, emergency services, nonprofits, and community-focused groups.

Project Location

The project is located on private land near Hornet Solar in Swisher County.
